At Mount Pilates we have two incredible Rehabilitation specialised Pilates instructors. Both Leyla Baillie and Jess Jefferies are available for either private or ACC covered sessions. We also run a ‘Good Back’ Rehab based group session if you interested in going a class.
Jess is a trained and experienced Physiotherapist with over 10 years under her belt. Specialising in neurological physiotherapy, Jess trained to become a Pilates instructor to be able to further empower her clients by using evidence backed Pilates exercises. With a passion for recovery through movement, Jess creates specific rehabilitation plans for each individual in an effort to help minimise their recovery period and maximise their quality of life.
Jess further trained and qualified in Polestar’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Course, NeuroKinetic Therapy and in using the Oov. It is safe to say Jess truly does gain incredible long-term, sustainable results from her clients with her comprehensive knowledge, wide range of styles and irrefutable passion for recovery.

While at university Leyla completed an excellent research study which supported the use of Pilates for successfully managing chronic and recurrent low back pain. This inspired her to undertake further training in Pilates for rehabilitation and educate herself in different modalities of therapeutic exercise. She draws from breathing and mindfulness exercise programs, kettle-bell and functional exercise training, yoga and Pilates, with the goal to extend your treatment beyond the clinic room and give you tailored exercises that give you control over your recovery process.

Please note, all bookings are to be made as ‘Private’ and we can assess whether we can use your ACC claim for your rehab program if this is what you wish, when you are in the clinic.
If you wish to lodge an ACC claim and would like to venture down the path of rehabilitation through Pilates, please firstly book in for either an Initial ACC Osteopathic treatment with Leyla or an Initial Private Pilates session with Jess and they can further asses your situation.
About the Good Back Class:
Our Good Back Program is specifically designed to teach you to understand your body, move better and help reduce the incidence and severity of back pain and sciatica. Suitable for people who have been recommended by their Osteopath, Medical Practitioner or Physiotherapist to do Pilates or a similar exercise program. Symptoms should be fairly stable, best to wait around 6 weeks after an injury or until acute symptoms have subsided. With a maximum of 4 people, you will get the attention you require to move safely and achieve positive outcomes.
